Happy 4th of July! I wanted to pop in with a quick post about a place every American History lover needs to visit, West Point, NY.
Just like my mom taking a leap a few years back, my dad did his own leaping during the 2015/2016 school year when he took an honorary temp position at West Point. Being less than an hour from him via Metro North, it was nice to have family close by to be able to quickly get out of the city. More than once Fezziwig joined me, as he just loves American History. He stopped by Trophy Point, the mess hall, said hello to all the Cadets, as well as saluting General MacArthur and General/ President Eisenhower. He had a ball, so did his mom and Grandpa :)
I hope you all have an great long weekend celebrating with a lot of food, friends and family!
PS- if any runners are looking for a great half marathon to run, within the last few years the West Point Half Marathon has opened up to civilians. I ran it in 2016 and it is a challenging and beautiful course. Highly suggest it! Yes, Fezzi was there to cheer me on.
